Nominated Senator Paul Njoroge shot at Vivo Energy chief executive Polycarp Igathe on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Mr Igathe, the Senator owns a Shell petrol station in Naivasha which has been out of stock for three weeks and has no working capital.

The station has been under probation since November after various efforts to revive it proved futile.

On Saturday, the Senator even threatened a team of Shell officials who had visisted the petrol station.

This prompted Mr Igathe to personally lead efforts to debrand the station on Tuesday by removing the Shell logo.

However Senator Njoroge started shooting at Mr Igathe’s team as soon as they arrived.

Mr Igathe has recorded a statement at Naivasha police station.
