Health experts have confirmed the outbreak of cholera at a Nairobi hotel that has seen 33 doctors admitted at Nairobi Hospital.

The doctors were among delegates who had gathered at Weston Hotel on Lang’ata Road for a science conference.

The hotel is associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

Over 50 people were tested at Nairobi Hospital and 24 are positive for cholera, according to Dr Joseph Oluoch, one of the conference’s conveners.

He disputed a statement by Ministry of Health that the disease outbreak was “just food poisoning”.
