Kenyans online have been participating in a #WavinyaChallenge after the Machakos gubernatorial aspirant coined a new Swahili proverb.
Wavinya Ndeti’s speech after being cleared by the court to run in the August 8 general elections had a hilarious reference to the popular Swahili saying, “Yaliyopita si ndwele.”
The new Wavinya version of “Yaliyondwele sipite” excited online users who started a #Wavinyachallenge twisting other Swahili proverbs.
