A group of Kenyans have already sent congratulatory messages to president Uhuru Kenyatta barely an hour after he was declared winner of the disputed repeat election.
Mr Kenyatta garnered 7,483,895 votes, which is 98.27pc of the valid votes cast in the fresh election held last week and which was boycotted by his main challenger, Nasa’s Raila Odinga.
The president, who was seeking second term in office, was however alive to the fact that it is not over yet as the opposition has 14 days to petition against his victory.

That, however, did not stop a group of Kenyan leaders from sending congratulatory messages to the head of state.
