The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has postponed elections in Migori, Siaya, Homa Bay and Kisumu counties due to violence.
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati said the elections in the four counties will be held on October 28.
One person has died in Kisumu and many others were injured when rowdy youth clashed with police.
The four are strongholds of Nasa leader Raila Odinga who has pulled out of the repeat election.
