A man who made headlines after he claimed to have witnessed two high-profile accidents in a span of one week has been arrested.

Dennis Muigai Ngengi was arrested in Ruiru on Thursday, according to Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro.

He says they want to know his character.

Mr Muhoro says detectives also want to know his real name.

He told journalists during seperate interviews that his name was Dennis Muigai Ngengi.

The man claimed to be a state pilot during an interview with Citizen TV after the helicopter accident in Lake Nakuru.

A few days later, he said he was trailing Nyeri Governor Wahome Gakuru’s ill-fated Mercedes Benz and witnessed it crash. The governor died.
