Senior Director of Digital Communication at State House Dennis Itumbi on Tuesday took to social media to defend NTV’s Larry Madowo.

This after the journalist was summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to record a statement over his August interview with economist and Nasa strategist David Ndii.

Mr Itumbi’s message left many people confused on which side he stands.

“As a citizen I do not see why Larry Madowo should record a statement just because he interviewed David Ndii,” read part of Itumbi’s tweet.

On Tuesday Madowo shared a letter to the Nation Media Group that required the company to avail him for recording of the statement to assist with the investigations.

Kenyans online questioned cast doubt on Itumbi’s views while at the same time saying he works for the same government that is summoning the NTV journalist.

Despite many bashing him, others agreed with him and congratulated him for going against the tide.
