Nairobians will from Wednesday midnight pay more at the pump after Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) announced new pump prices in their monthly price review.

The reviewed fuel prices will see Super petrol retail at Sh107.92 in Nairobi after an increase of Sh1.62, while diesel and kerosene prices have also gone up by Sh2.14 and Sh1.97 respectively.

In a statement, commission Director General Robert Pervel Oimeke attributed the increase in this month’s pump prices to a significant rise in the cost of imported Super Petrol, diesel and kerosene in December 2017 and January 2018.

The maximum retail pump prices in the country as set by ERC are to remain in effect for the period from February 15, 2018 to March 14, 2018 before a fresh price review is announced.
