Supply Chain, Import & Export Manager – Retail (2nd Hand Clothing)

Our client, a dynamic 2nd Hand Retail Clothing shop with 13 retail branches across Nairobi is looking for a Hands-on Supply Chain, Import & Export Manager. The successful candidate MUST have experience working in retail chain with background working in the imports and export sector. He/she would be required to ensure optimum stock holding at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct periodic counts for all retail and wholesale shops i.e. weekly, monthly and quarterly.
• Enforce policies that ensure that there are no case of shrinkage, whether paper shrinkage or physical shrinkage.
• Ensure FIFO system is used for stock movement.
• Raise weekly update and other management reports.
• Prepare variance reports for each item whose theoretical balance varies from physical count.
• Prepare stock valuation reports for the Company and advise how much stock is held in turnover.
• Give finance information related to cost of goods sold.
• To ensure there is buffer stock that it is sufficient and appreciate principles the Saw – Tooth inventory model.
• Raise order based on stock on hand, goods in transit and lead time from suppliers.
• Monitor all in-transit consignments and raise a logistic grid detailing the status.
• Liaise with shipping companies so as to get the best freight rates & shortest routes.
• Share and advice the Company on the best shipping Company.
• Make trips to KPA coastal deport, ICD terminal or shipping Company.
• Appreciate the requirements that KRA, KBS, Kenya Railways, Kenya health department and Kenya ports Authority.
• Ensuring clearing and offloading is done effectively.
• Advise the Company on contra banned items so that these items are not ordered from suppliers.
• Prepare landed cost report for each consignment and share this out with wholesales & commercial team.
• Ensure all documents required for clearing each consignment that is -BL,CoC, CoF, CoO,
• Invoice, Packing List, Customs Entry raised in time.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 3 years in a Retail Chain Company.
• Must have a degree in Business Supply Chain Management or its equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years working in import/export or clearing & forwarding.
• Must be willing to work in an unstructured environment i.e. Mitumba sector.
• Must be a natural team player.
• Must be hands-on.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Must be a person of high integrity, diligent and a good negotiator.
• Candidates with pervious long employment tenures from previous employers will have an added advantage.
