IT Manager Infrastructure

Our client, a leading provider of medical services in East Africa is seeking to recruit an IT Manager – Infrastructure to be based in Nairobi – Kenya. The ideal candidate must have over 10 years’ experience successful leadership of an infrastructure team managing & configuring Enterprise -wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs etc.

Key responsibilities:

Network Management.
Design and implement strategic plans so that network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
Manages all network hardware and communication equipment to ensure optimal operation 24/7 across the WAN.
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards.
Provide reports to Management, with recommendations and plans for correcting any network challenges.
Information Security.
Develops security procedures i.e., administration of user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Manages security solutions, i.e. firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion prevention systems, among others.
Perform periodic reviews of ICT security controls.
Maintains a secure IT environment within the group by identifying system requirements and monitoring performance.
Monitoring and ensuring integrity of backups on group systems to support business continuity.
IT Asset Management.
Verifying user needs and coordinate procurement process for ICT and related network.
Coordinate effective management of IT assets and related documentation.
Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of hardware and software across the organization’s network.
Enforcing compliance and regulation by ensuring all vendors and meet their specific standards.
Service Management.
Monitoring ICT Infrastructure to ensure availability and reliability to support business operations.
Establish SLA with end users and provide them with support and training in LAN admin and usage.
Ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, and their OS and software.
Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.
Test server performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
Preparation of ICT Budget and ensure cost containment.
Plan and allocate duties to team members and monitor progress and performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or an equivalent professional.
Relevant professional qualification from a recognized institution.
Over 10 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
10 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team.
Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful SLA accomplishments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and Attributes
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Highly self-motivated, with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
