Our client a Global Organization with its inception in the USA and with primary mission of accelerating economic development in emerging economies is looking to fill the position of Head – South Africa to lead country operations in South Africa, Namibia and Zambia The successful candidate MUST have launched or established a business unit as a CEO/COO or a Business Unit Head in a for-profit organization/any successful enterprise and 20-25 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and lead country operations in South Africa, Namibia and Zambia through effective implementation of programs.
- Drive and maximize outcomes and impact in new company creation, new job creation through entrepreneurs and job placements in the region.
- Be the face of the organization; establish strong credibility, thought leadership and visible presence.
- Build a strong bonded community of beneficiaries and Partners.
- Recruit and manage staff, including performance monitoring, mentoring and training.
- Develop annual budgets and detailed annual country operating plan/s including monthly, quarterly or annual deliverables, outcomes and expenditures.
- Develop dashboards and program performance reports, on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Maintain strong executive presence and manage business operations and roll-out across multiple geographies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a South African National.
- Must have at least 20-25 years of work experience with strong analytical and strategic orientation.
- Must have a Master’s degree or Post graduate from a top University or foreign institute.
- Must be able to make decisions at high speed, based on data and rapid analysis and insights.
- Must be a recognized leader with proven success as an entrepreneur or a business leader having launched and scaled several business units.
- Excellent customer-facing skills: previous experience in business development and/or sales/account management with both government and enterprise.
- Excellent problem solver and program manager: able to manage multiple projects and initiatives in details.
- Strong talent builder: able to attract and retain top talent; able to build an effective organization.
- Extensive experience in deploying and scaling technology-based solutions with achievement and outcome orientation.
- Knowledge of partnering with the governments to execute program and influence policies.
- Broad networking capabilities and experience in building networks and partnerships to achieve business success.
