A global bus and truck manufacturing company in the Automotive sector is looking to hire a Truck Workshop Team leader to oversee the activities of a team of auto-technicians by allocating the workload, tools, floor space and materials to facilitate efficient completion of scheduled repairs and services. The ideal candidate must have more than 3 years of experience within the same field, clear understanding of the automotive systems, knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs. Basic bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Team leadership experience is needed. The candidate must be detail oriented, good communicator, with customer & quality focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Allocate the workload to assigned team.
  • Ensure adequate supply and maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials in the department.
  • Ensure that the area is adequately staffed to achieve objectives.
  • Assess impact of delays, interruptions or changes in plans and implement appropriate courses of action to minimize issues.
  • Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
  • Review the monthly performance in collaboration with other team leaders to determine where improvements can be made.
  • Analyse current procedures and activities to identify and present opportunities for improvement.
  • Orient new team members and ensure that all the technicians are with up to date trainings.
  • Explain job expectations and procedures to ensure that new team members understand their respective duties.
  • Coach and develop the job-related skills of team members to facilitate improvements in their job performance.
  • Maintain good relationships with customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations.
  • Undertake additional related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  •  Must have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering.
  • Must have over 3 years’ experience in the automotive field.
  • Must have knowledge of the Automotive systems (vehicle layout, function and location of parts).
  • Knowledge of mechanical issues, warranties, service and general repairs is also needed.
  • Must be good in MS Office.
  • Technical competence with ability to train others is mandatory.
  • Must have solid organizational ability with detail orientation.
  • Good communication in English – written and oral.
  • Ability to leading, supervise other staff with a team orientation.
  • Must have a Customer & Quality Focus.
