Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso died on Monday afternoon at Nairobi Hospital while undergoing treatment for an undisclosed condition.
Her family has confirmed the death.
The governor returned to the country two weeks ago after a two-month stay in India and the United Kingdom seeking treatment for an undisclosed condition.
