Quality Control Analyst – Microbiology department.

Our Client, a leading agricultural service Company with a Sub-Saharan reach based near Nairobi, is looking to recruit an experienced Quality Control Analyst for their Microbiology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementation, maintenance, reviewing and improvement of the Quality Management System for the department. The ideal candidate MUST be authorized to interpret test results in reports, based on extensive knowledge of the specific application and Must be fully conversant with ISO17025 accreditation and able to supervise accredited work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and supervise microbiological tests on a daily base.
• Manage capacity and capabilities with an eye for employees and customers.
• Ensure and improve department performance, productivity efficiency and profitability.
• Responsible for the designing, implementation, maintenance review and improvement of the Quality Management System for the department.
• Responsible for on-going, objective competence monitoring and verification of personnel performance.
• Organize and monitor internal quality control, a.o. program of periodic checks, organize for reference materials and reference cultures.
• Organize and monitor external quality assessment (proficiency testing).
• Validate test methods.
• Identify individual components of uncertainty, evaluate their contribution and demonstrate to be under control.
• Identify sources of variability and demonstrate to be under control.
• Ensure test and sample integrity.
• Monitor, control and record environmental conditions as required by the relevant specifications, methods and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a relevant field.
• MUST have more than 7 years’ experience in Quality Control Analyst – Microbiology department with 5 years spent in management level.
• MUST be authorized to interpret test results in reports, based on extensive knowledge of the specific application including legislative and technological requirements.
• Must be fully conversant with ISO17025 accreditation and able to supervise accredited work.
