Representative of Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto’s Chama cha Mashinani were a no show during Wednesday’s opposition unity meeting at the Bomas of Kenya.

The party was mentioned severally by speakers of the day as the sixth party in the National Super Alliance (Nasa).

The parties represented in the meeting were the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Ford Kenya, Wiper Democratic Movement and Kanu.

Governor Ruto has previously hinted that he was willing to join any alliance stating in an interview, “I will only join any coalition, including Nasa, if they agree with my own ideals.”

VOTER REGISTRATION

Kanu was represented by its secretary-general Nick Salat despite talk that other party leaders among them Baringo Senator Gideon Moi are indifferent to the alliance.

Mr Moi is also on record for terming as personal Mr Salat’s move to join Cord in street protests to call for the resignation of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officers.

Leaders who attended the Wednesday meeting urged all party leaders and aspirants to champion voter registration so as to have the majority votes required to win the election.
