Kenyan football club Gor Mahia’s ardent fan Jaro Soja has invited President Uhuru Kenyatta to visit his Odendo Village home in South Gem, Siaya County for a house-warming.
Soja says since he met President Kenyatta, favourable outcome in his endeavors has been pronounced.
“Since meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi in November 2014 – after Gor were crowned Kenya Premier League Champions –, good fortune has been my portion. He opened a myriad opportunities for me. I believe it is God who sent me to meet and interact with the Head of State.
“Seemingly, he is a symbol of good luck, especially to me. I now take the opportunity to invite him to my Gem home for house-warming, and I will cook him kuku ya kienyeji. I’ll appreciate if he takes notice of my request and give me a date,” Soja told eDaily.
Jaro Soja’s wife Emmer Owago has welcomed her husband’s request to Kenyatta and is looking forward to meeting him in their Odendo Village home.
Soja’s request to Uhuru comes just a few days after the President honored ailing football legend Joe Kadenge’s dying wish by paying him a visit at his South B home in Nairobi.
Uhuru donated KSh2 million to aid in offsetting Kadenge’s hospital bill and offered him a full medical cover.
Uhuru arrived at Kadenge’s home at around 7pm (Sunday, January 8) accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Sports CS Hassan Wario and other government officials.
Kadenge, in his heyday was Kenya’s greatest footballer.
He made a wish to see President Uhuru Kenyatta last year, when he was admitted in hospital for diabetes.
