Police have launched a manhunt for six inmates who escaped from Garissa Police Station Wednesday morning.
The six are said to have drilled a hole – at 12 am – through a toilet wall at the police post, where they were being held.
According to Garissa police boss Aaron Moriasi, the walls of the toilets were weak, and the suspects used their bare hands to scuff the walls before escaping into the darkness.
Mr Moriasi says the six had been apprehended for various criminal offenses including defilement, robbery and stock theft.
