Two dead after speeding lorry plunges into river – PHOTOS

Two people died after a lorry plunged into River Honi at Mweiga along the Nyeri – Nyahururu highway on Sunday afternoon.

The lorry was transporting animal feeds from Nakuru to Nyeri when its driver lost control and crushed through the metal guard rails.

The turn boy of the lorry died on the spot while the driver succumbed to injuries while being rushed to Mary Immaculate Hospital.

Police and rescue teams are on the ground trying to retrieve the body of the turn boy which is stuck under the truck.
