Kenya’s top politicians have enlisted to a social media campaign that is rallying the youth to register as voters.
The G-Votie campaign has seen President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga each feature in videos that encourage the youth to participate in the ongoing mass registration.
The campaign has partnered with gospel music duo of William Kamore and Moses Kariuki, popularly known as Kymo and Stigah, who sang the Thitima anthem.
The video clips have been widely shared on social media platforms under the hashtag #Kurayakosautiyako.
The first video featuring President Kenyatta was released last week, with Mr Odinga’s video coming out two days later. On Wednesday Mr Ruto’s video was released.
