Kenyans on Tuesday, 21 2017 were fuming with anger after the latest episode of Fox’s beloved action thriller, 24 Legacy, used a CCTV footage from the 2013 Westgate mall attack that left at least 67 dead.

Fox has now come out to apologise for the video clip and have promised to delete it from the episode.

According to qz.com, a spokesperson for Fox studios confirmed they will delete the footage which went viral in Kenya just several hours after episode 4 aired on Fox.

In episode 4 of 24: Legacy we regretfully included news footage of an attack in Nairobi,” Executive producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto said in a statement sent to Quartz Africa.

“It will be removed from all future broadcasts and versions of the show. We apologize for any pain caused to the victims and their families and are deeply sorry.”

Using the hashtag #SomeoneTellFox, Kenyans complained online over the clip which shows Al- shabaab gunmen shooting their victims as scared shoppers scampered for safety.

It was one of the most emotional moments for the country as people watched the horrific attack on TV.

Once the dust settled, over 200 people were injured.

In the series, a counterintelligence agent briefs US authorities telling them the attack happened in Egypt, a thing that annoyed Kenyans further.
