Police officer found dead in a Nairobi lodging

A Nairobi police officer was on Tuesday morning found dead inside a guest room in Huruma estate.

The cause of the police officer’s death has not yet been established, says police.

According to the lodging management, the officer was not in the company of a partner when he checked himself in.

Confirming the incident, Nairobi county commander Japheth Koome said the officer had checked into the lodging facility Monday night – and his lifeless body was discovered the next day.

“We have taken the officer’s body to a Nairobi mortuary for autopsy. We are yet to know what caused his death. But he had no body injuries,” said Japheth Koome.
