Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is scheduled to jet back into the country from the United States on Sunday, March 5.
Mombasa County ODM chairman Mohammed Hatimy has confirmed that the governor will arrive at the Moi International Airport, Mombasa on Sunday, after which he will meet Mombasa residents.
Joho has been out of the country for nearly two weeks now.
While in the US, Joho discussed rising violent extremism in Kenya’s Coastal region.
The governor’s itinerary in Washington DC included a meeting with Kareem Shora in the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and USAID’s Russell Porter.
The Mombasa delegation also met chairpersons of congressional and senate committees on Africa.
Joho also visited Adams Mosque before traveling to Montgomery County.
The Governor also held a round table meeting with Homeland Security officials.
