Police on Monday, March 20, summoned four employees of Co-operative Bank, Isiolo branch, for questioning over the theft of KSh26 million from the facility.
Three robbers accessed the banking facility on Sunday evening after one of the employees opened the bank door to them after close of business.
The robbers tied up four workers, who have since been arrested, using a rope and stole KSh26 million, before escaping alongside the bank employee who had opened the door.
Confirming the incident, Isiolo police boss, Charles Ontita, said that the robbery took place after police officers, who had been assigned the role of manning the bank through the day, had returned to their respective stations end of business.
Ontita said police will examine the bank’s CCTV footage to help them conduct investigations into the robbery.
