Apart from the bevy of lawyers, the Supreme Court saw a huge delegation of politicians from both sides, but more from Nasa. Of the 5 Nasa principals, only Isaac Ruto was not in the courtroom. Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho was also present.
From the Jubilee side, Majority Leader Aden Duale was perhaps the most high ranking politician.
Though the police have cordoned off the Supreme Court and surrounding roads, there was not shortage of interest. At some point, Nasa leader Raila Odinga was involved in a bitter exchange with a senior police officer at the court’s main gate. It was hard to make out what the argument was all about, but it appeared as though the police had blocked part of Raila’s delegation or security detail from accessing the court. Raila can be heard loudly asking ‘whose order is this?’.
