City billionaire and media mogul SK Macharia is not your ordinary Kenya Power customer.
He was publicly notified on Facebook of an impending power interruption at his residence in Kiambu county scheduled for Monday between 9am and 5pm.
Kenya Power routinely issues notices of power interruption, but rarely are such notices directed to owners of private properties.
The notices usually only focus on general regions, estates and shopping centres and are posted daily on the firm’s Facebook account.
PECULIAR LOCATION
On Monday however, the list that featured markets and estates within Kiambu County had one peculiar location, the residence of SK Macharia.
In the notice, no other private residence was listed.
Mr Macharia owns the Royal Media Services empire that houses Citizen TV, Citizen Radio and a string of vernacular stations.
A screen shot of the Macharia residence’s special mention was shared online.
