Why Johnson Sakaja Wants Meeting With NASA and Jubilee MPs Below Age 35

Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has announced plans to meet with at least 50 youthful MPs from both Jubilee and NASA.

The meeting, which is expected to happen before a repeat of the presidential polls, shall with newly elected leaders under the age of 35.

Speaking on Wednesday, Sakaja said the intention of the meeting is to discuss the way forward for the country’s leadership from a view of the legislative change they seek to influence.

“I will meet the leaders so that we can discuss key leadership issues without looking at our political affiliation but our role as youthful leaders,” said Sakaja.

“All these political temperatures caused by politicians through insults and hate speech should stop. I would like to urge my fellow Jubilee members, as well as my friends in NASA, to quell all the insults because they are not benefiting anyone. Let us have new politics.”

He added: “Leaders should now focus on development politics and not abuses. When the president says something wrong or even the opposition leader, I equally disagree with them,” said Sakaja.

He noted that the leaders, “the likes of Babu Owino and Jaguar”, have a good influence on the country’s youth and can change the political landscape in 2022.
