Nairobi governor Mike Sonko on Friday promised to abolish daily fee charged to Mama Mbogas but his decision has not been well received online.
The governor said the move will ensure the Mama Mbogas can earn more money as opposed to spending a lot of it in obtaining city council permits.
Currently, the Mama Mbogas are charged daily to be allowed to do business in the city and this dwindles their daily profits.
Will also abolish the daily fee charged on mama mbogas. I believe this will put more money in their pockets to feed & educate their children

Sonko’s promise was however not welcomed by tweeps who told the governor that campaign time was over and there is no need to make promises.
The users told Sonko to instead focus on delivery and only report what has already been achieved.
Others took the chance to bring back the governor’s jibe on Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and the response the legislator gave him.
still making promises. Campaign period is over sir & you’re governor. In stead of the “I wills,” we wanna see more of “I haves.”

Use economists in your hypotheses. Not all decisions result in the desired outcomes, especially where money is involved.
