Our client a leading retail company that provides lifestyle solutions through various brands to its customers in East Africa is looking for a Human Resource Administrator. The ideal candidate must have good experience in a large Retail and a valid member of IHRM.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to HR Policies, processes and legal compliance.
- Ensure adherence to the CBA and escalation of any Union related matters.
- Provide an end to end transactional services across lifecycle events and resourcing within the agreed SLA.
- Maintain and verify data to HR System, ensuring that the information is accurate and timely.
- Assist with the preparation, process and checking of payroll.
- Administer and explain benefits to new and existing employees.
- Co-ordinate and manage the recruitment process.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Run or update monthly reports to ensure data integrity including leave, contractor status etc.
- Assist the Regional HRBP East Africa with admin task related to the IPM and ER process.
- Engage with first-line managers and provide HR generalist services where required.
- Ensure adherence to the record management process and legislative requirements.
- Upskill line management on HR Admin and all HR issues.
- Demonstrate customer service.
- Greet and acknowledge the customers.
- Engage with internal and external customers in a professional and ethical manner.
- Deal with complaints, requests, and queries quickly and efficiently.
- Take ownership of dealing with a customer’s problem or by escalating to a manager.
- Demonstrate sufficient store and product knowledge to address the customer’s needs.
- Perform human resources & payroll administration.
- Complete HR admin reports as requested.
- Ensure new appointments and terminations have been completed and submitted.
- Ensure correct transfer documentation has been completed for all internal transfers.
- Accurate HR reporting (Cross Selling & Service).
- Ensure timeous submission of all HR related document to the relevant stakeholders.
- Perform a quarterly HR standstill (mini audit).
- Reporting acts of dishonesty related to shrinkage and fraud to your line manager.
- Understand and apply all red flag processes and policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate personal leadership (leadership).
- Demonstrate self-discipline with regards to attendance, dress code, hygiene and timekeeping.
Qualifications:
- IHRM membership
- 3-5 years relevant HR administrative environment, preferably in a retail environment.
- Possess mathematical and language skills needed to cope with everyday life.
- Able to compute simple mathematical tasks and equations.
- Able to read, write and understand commonly used language.
- Ability to manage teams, empower staff.
- Dynamic self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to apply sound judgment to solve complex business problems.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and motivate staff.
- Should possess strong interpersonal skills.
