Our client an NGO that combats gender inequality and extreme poverty in urban slums is looking for a Site Director for their office in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will contribute to Organisation strategy and deliver Kibera growth ambitions whilst achieving high levels of service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop & manage program plans, targets and direct oversight of a complex project.
- Supervise program officers, ensure consistent program development and adherence to (SOPs).
- Work with the Education Director on ‘Girls Leadership & Education’ programs & the Organization Urban Network activities.
- Work with Senior Management, Program Officers and external advisors to develop and implement new programs (as required).
- Work with the different organization Managers to maximize program impact and community engagement.
- Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation team to ensure effective data collection and transparency of program performance against set targets.
- Create timely working documents for program planning, evaluation and communications.
- Oversee program staff hiring and performance management.
- Work with the national Operations staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Effectively communicate & engage key stakeholders on organization strategy, transformation model & programs.
- Work with the Portfolio Manager and CAO team to provide timely information to donors.
- Work with the Program Marketing Manager to maintain high levels of staff motivation.
- Build capacity and capability of organization staff.
Qualification:
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or Development related field.
- Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience of Urban Programming in the informal sectors.
- Must have experience of managing large, complex projects, involving many stakeholders.
- Must have experience of working virtually in cross-cultural teams.
- Proven technical competencies in program planning, design and implementation.
- Demonstrated ability for strategic thinking, analysis and problem-solving.
- Strong stakeholder coordination and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills, with an ability to multi-task.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Action-orientated and able to identify alternative solutions to meet program goals.
- Ability to interact with people of all ages and cultures in the informal setting.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team and work flexible hours.
