The late Bunty Shah who was allegedly shot dead by police when they raided his home in Westlands on the morning of October 22, 2017.

The body of Bunty Shah, the slain son of city tycoon Vipin Shah, was cremated Wednesday at Hindu Shamshan Bhumi crematorium in Kariorkor.

The deceased, the only son of the owner of Bobmil Industries limited,  was allegedly shot dead by police on Sunday at his home in Westlands at the junction of Peponi and General Mathenge roads.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at MP Shah Hospital.

On Wednesday, security was enhanced at the crematorium with the police deployed at vantage points.

Journalists were not allowed to take pictures of the ceremony.

“This is a solemn moment where the family is still in mourning and I do not think they can talk to the media. Let them be given space to pray and mourn in peace,” said businessman Vimal Shah of Bidco Africa.

 

On Monday, Mr Kiru Shah, an uncle of the deceased, said Bunty, 32, was shot on the chest at close range through his bedroom window when he woke up to find out the cause of commotion outside his house.
