Peace messages dominated this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park grounds.

This even as Kenyans online made fun of Nairobi governor Mike Sonko’s delivery of his speech.

President Uhuru Kenyatta during the fete urged Kenyans to maintain peace ahead of the Thursday presidential election.

Sonko in his speech assured Nairobians that he will deliver while urging the police to maintain law and order in the city.

“It is important that every resident feels secure and assured that they have nothing to fear as they conduct their business in accordance with the law. Let all the law-enforcement agencies remain vigilant, steadfast and act firmly against criminal elements as we approach the forthcoming presidential elections,” he said.

Kenyans online weighed in during Sonko’s speech making fun of his delivery skills.
