City cops outlaw planned Nasa rally in Embakasi

Police in Nairobi have declared the planned opposition rally at Jacaranda grounds, in Embakasi illegal.

National Super Alliance (Nasa) leaders had announced to their supporters that they will hold the rally on Sunday to be hosted by the area’s MP Babu Owino.

Nairobi county police commander Japheth Koome has however said that the leadership of Nasa has not obtained a license  for the rally.

Mr Koome has threatened to take action against Nasa leaders who will continue to hold the rally.

He further added that police are not aware of plans to hold a political rally in the city on Tuesday during the return of Nasa leader Raila Odinga from his tour in United States.
