Our client, an upmarket Safari company, is looking for a Lodge Manager for their luxury tented camp in Uganda. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years Managerial experience in a remote high-end Lodge or Tented Camp, be a strong leader and very customer oriented. He/She will be responsible for managing the camps guest experience, front-of-house management, monitoring standards throughout the lodge, reservations, operations, human resources, repairs & maintenance, staff training, profitability and conservation liaison.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day running of the camp and ensure all operational areas are functioning.
  • Commercial accountability for Budgeting and Financial Management.
  • Stock and Cost Control as well as Systems and Logistics.
  • Guest Relations and Reservations overview.
  • Basic day to day HR and Staff relation, including training and mentoring.
  • Daily Administration, Property and back of house operations.
  • Repairs and Maintenance overview.
  • Building Management and future upgrades.
  • Vehicle, Roads and Ground Maintenance.
  • Liaison with Park officials.
  • Resolve and handle Guest complaints.

Qualifications:

  • Hotel Management degree from a reputable institution.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a 5 Star Lodge or Tented camp.
  • Very good computer skills – MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent Communication and People skills.
  • Hands-on and Problem solver.
  • Leadership and Management skills.
  • Be a good motivator.
