Opposition leaders insist they will hold their rally on Sunday at Jacaranda grounds despite police slapping a ban on it.

Siaya Senator James Orengo has said the rally will go on, and that the National Super Alliance (Nasa) will not recognize the police order as it has no basis in law.

Senator Orengo was Sunday afternoon at Panari Hotel waiting for Nasa co-principal Musalaia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula before heading to the venue.

Hours earlier, Nairobi county police commander Japheth Koome had declared the rally illegal because Nasa’s leadership had not sought for permission or notified police to be given security ahead of the rally.
