A front page picture on the Daily Nation showing students sitting for the KCPE examinations in a dilapidated school in Malava, Kakamega County has sparked a heated online debate.
The picture shows pupils from Shikokhwe Primary School seated on wooden desks doing their exams inside a mud walled classroom. A good section of the walls seem to have fallen off exposing the students who are inside the classroom.
The photo captured the attention of Kenya’s online community which was quick to demand for answers from the President and the county government.

This is a National Government function. Only ECD and TVET are devolved to counties. Matiangi has the budget for schools infrastructure.
