Technical Manager –Western Kenya

Our client a high-quality solar energy provider is looking to fill the position of a Technical Manager who will support the Western Region, Kenya. The successful candidate will be expected to implement Company’s Technical management strategy, policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• In charge of office organization, purchases and maintenance of technical related issues.
• Visit potential installation sites to conduct inspections, verifications & progress evaluations.
• Develop & maintain a tracking system of technical & structural failures within sites.
• Develop standard operation procedures & quality/safety standards for solar installation & civil works.
• Provide technical direction/support to installation teams during structural and electrical set up.
• Create checklists for review or inspection of completed solar installation projects and commercial projects.
• Ensure technical team & processes are compliant with solar engineering standards.
• Continuously maintain environmental, health and safety & legal requirements in all installation hubs.
• Inspecting unsafe hubs and recommending options for repairs and maintenance.
• Prepare technical specifications, reports, cost estimates and other relevant documents.
• Research & evaluate trends in the solar industry to continuously improve processes to increase on efficiency.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or relevant experience in Renewable energy sector.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a fast growing consumer retail institution, preferably in East Africa.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team.
• High level of oral and written communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
