Pupil drowns in school pool while swimming with friends

Police are investigating the death of a nine year-old pupil who drowned in a school swimming pool.

Risper Namweya was swimming with other children at Elimu House in Kamulu, in the outskirts of Nairobi.

The incident which took place on Thursday at 4pm was reported by her uncle Henry Siroyo.

According to a police report, the girl was pronounced dead at Ruai Family Care hospital.

The girl was a pupil at Uthiru primary school.
