President Uhuru Kenyatta’s handlers had a ‘faux pas‘ moment when he received his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni at State House, Nairobi -at least going by one Ugandan on Twitter.
The two leaders were photographed with just three flags –Kenyan, Kenya Defence Forces’ and the president’s. There was no Ugandan flag as is the norm.
This ‘oversight’ was noticed by a Uganda on Twitter, in response to President Kenyatta’s tweet.
The Ugandan flag is missing. Help, protocol officials.

Even an image taken from a wider angle, capturing more leaders showed no Ugandan flag.
But is it an oversight or the norm during such meetings?
When he met Matteo Renzi, former PM of Italy.
When he met South Sudan’s Salva Kiir.
When he met South Africa’s Jacob Zuma.
The only exception seems to be during joint addresses.
With former US president Barack Obama
With SA’s Jacob Zuma.
With Somalia’s Mohamed Abdullahi “Farmajo” Mohamed.
