The National Environment Management Agency has shut down the popular Burma Market located along Jogoo Road with immediate effect.

The agency shut downthe market due to non-compliance with plastic bags ban.

“Due to high level of violation of the plastic ban within Burma market,  Director General Nema has decided to shut down the market with immediate effect until the market can demonstrate full compliance with the ban,” a statement by Evans Nyabuto, the agency’s Corporate Communications Manager said.
