Embattled Senate Minority Leader Moses Wetangula can breathe a sigh of relief after his NASA boss Raila Odinga denied knowledge of his ouster.

In an interesting twist of events, the ODM party wrote to the senate speaker informing decision to overthrow Wetangula and subsequently replace him with James Orengo.

“In compliance with Standing Orders, Wetangula has been validly removed after 16 senators signed for his ouster,” read Speaker Kenneth Lusaka.

The move has created yet another division within the coalition with Wetangula promising that the impending divorce will be ‘noisy and messy’.

But at Kisii, Raila denied knowledge of Wetangula’s ouster adding that only NASA summit has powers to evict him.

“I am also seeing this on papers and I have spoken with my colleagues. I am not aware of the unfortunate plans.”

With NASA given until Monday to elect formally elect Orengo, Raila’s version of story may as well mean that the Siaya senator will after all not replace Wetangula.

Earlier on Friday morning, Raila is said to have called his co-principals and dissociated himself from the motion in senate.
