President Uhuru Kenyatta has read the riot act to Governor Mike Sonko and Cabinet Secretary for Transport, James Macharia, over the recent fatalities in Nairobi caused by flash flood and a poor drainage system in the county.
President Kenyatta has warned the two there should never be a repeat of such incidents in the future.
He also directed them to work together to improve the drainage system and infrastructure in the county starting with the Rapid Bus Transport.
“Work together with Sonko on these problems. We don’t want to see people being carried away with flash floods,” President Kenyatta said.
The president made the remarks on Thursday while commissioning phase two of dual construction of Ngong Road.
