Our client, an international Hotel Chain in Nairobi, is looking for an experienced F&B Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall smooth and economical running of the F&B department. Strong accent is to be given to the hospitality towards the guest as a prime goal and thus to maintain and develop the attitude of the related staff. Must have international hotel chain experience!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide positive leadership to all people within the Food & Beverage Department.
- Responsible for recruitment, training, motivation, working conditions, internal communications, quality control, employee empowerment and staff recognition within the Food & Beverage Department.
- Act as a positive, contributing member within the hotel’s management.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan for the Food & Beverage Department.
- To report and explain to outlet managers financial objectives and actual results on an ongoing basis.
- Approve menus and wine lists.
- Work in conjunction with the Executive Chef to ensure the service team product. knowledge of all menu items and ingredients is thorough.
- Maximize sales and control costs to enhance F&B margins.
- To drive the performance of the Food & Beverage team members, including completion of performance appraisals, coaching counselling and performance management in conjunction with Human Resources.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Hospitality management or relevant field, a Masters would be an added advantage.
- Fluent in English.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on similar role in a 5-star Hotel.
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Ability to manage and prioritize challenging workloads.
- Strongly results oriented, ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Significant IT skills, Communication and interpersonal skills.
- International Hotel Chain experience.
