Our client is a leading ethical clothing factories in the world. It is an organisation that is progressive, visionary and committed to producing high-quality competitive garments while making a positive and sustainable impact. The Company is currently seeking to recruit a Factory Manager. Within next year the Company plans to build another factory and double it’s capacity. They are seeking a Factory Manager who will be a key player in the growth. The ideal candidate Must have prior experience working in the Textile.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure client samples are correct and all related documentation for samples completed.
- On receipt of order create critical path (information regarding capacity obtained from
- Production Manager) with clear deadlines and deliverables and confirm this with the client.
- Pre-production planning with Procurement & Logistics department to organise purchase of trims, booking of fabrics.
- Management of client fabric testing, ordering of labels and follow up of all components necessary to ensure production begins in line with critical path dates.
- Manage paperwork related to importing all components into the country.
- Provide Production Manager with all documentation of the order.
- Once production begins, collect production figures from Production Manager daily to ensure critical path deadlines are on track.
- Weekly meetings with Production Manager and Supervisors to ensure critical path is on track and all Supervisors are fulfilling their job requirements.
- Provide client with weekly critical path updates.
- Build positive working relationship with clients.
- Oversee booking of export documentation once orders completed.
- Negotiate fabric and trim prices, garment costings, lead times and minimums.
- Analyse the supplier’s capacity to meet the critical path and highlighting any foreseen bottlenecks.
- Communicate with overseas suppliers to ensure that all import orders are on track and on time.
- Oversee the import of raw materials, ordering of labels and trims and export of completed goods.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Textile/Garment Manufacturing.
- At least 10 years working experience in garment production, of which over 5 years’ experience in senior management.
- Must have excellent knowledge in woven and knit garment construction.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail, organisational and multitasking skills are essential.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Initiative, reliability and honesty with can-do attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to make production and logistics planning and ensure their prompt execution.
