Retail Operations Supervisor

Our client, a fast-growing convenience chain store providing food and household products is looking to recruit an Operations Supervisor. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree, at least 2 years’ experience in the retail sector and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedules and supervises staff and temporary personnel; provides training; assigns duties & explains procedures.
• Recommends ways to increase profitability, store layout, display, product line etc.
• Opens and closes facility; oversees opening of registers and preparation of cash drawers.
• Performs inventory control functions: maintaining stock, filling special orders and requisitions.
• Monitoring inventory, handling customer problems & processing incoming shipments.
• Assists in management of special projects and events.
• Monitors and maintains facility and equipment.
• Ensure all Team Members are coached to provide excellent service.
• Track cash variances and report to Management.
• Manage all sales floor operations and task activities.
• Perform shift changes and cash counts as needed; perform cash pickups.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Flexibility in scheduling; evenings, early mornings, weekends and holidays required.
• Previous cash handling or office management experience preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of computer and database/spreadsheet software.
• Knowledge of retailing standards and procedures.
• Supervisory skills and experience.
• Ability to successfully interact with a diverse customer/employee base.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Understanding financial and non-financial business results.
• Demonstrate ability to set goals and objectives and motivate team to achieve them.
• Demonstrate ability to multitask while leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting up to 50lbs.
• Ability to bend, turn, twist, kneel and/or squat often during the day.
• Must be able to move about the store and/or remain stationary, up to 8 hours per day.
