Our client is a well-established organization that is involved in the development, distribution and exportation of mainly hybrid seed varieties. They are looking to recruit a Seed Production Officer. The ideal candidate must have over 5 years’ relevant experience in a seed production environment in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing production advice to the growers on optimum use of fertilizer and pesticide.
- Responsible for providing follow up reports by crop for each plot.
- Responsible for controlling and guaranteeing purity levels during pollination and harvesting.
- Ensuring regular control during the crop cycle to guarantee the germination.
- Creation and updating of operation protocols.
- Implementation of a production report for out growers.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences/Agronomy or related field.
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in similar position
- Should have a strong agronomical profile and passion for plants.
- A strong personality with vision.
- Must be proactive and be able to work autonomously
- Should be a team player and motivator with strong leadership skills
- Must be well acquainted with KEPHIS rules and regulations
- Excellent planning skills and highly organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines.
- Can adapt quickly to different environments.
- Effective people & project management skills.
- Ability to perform at a high level, constantly with proven experience.
