Key Responsibilities:

  •  Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service/Procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of all restaurant equipment and ensure they are used only as intended.
  • Understand, comply, and administer principals of law relating to food service
  • establishments including but not limited to nutrition, sanitation, safety, employment law,fire, and health code regulations.
  • Welcome guests to the restaurant promptly and professionally and seat them with menus and wine list.
  • Ensure place settings are appropriate and each guest has a napkin, clean silverware, and any other item that is part of the standard place setting.
  • Move and arrange tables, chairs, and settings and organize seating for groups with special needs.
  • Advise guests who their assigned waiter/waitress will be.
  • Ensure the reservation diary is kept up to date with all guest names, telephone numbers, guest information and special requests.
  • Adhere to the daily checklists and notify management of any discrepancies.
  • Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free.
  • Acquire a working knowledge of hotel, in-house facilities and local information to respond to guest questions in these areas as required.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents.
  • injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as and when required.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Restaurant Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience. (Hospitality certification is a plus.).
  • No experience required.
  • Excellent English verbal, written and reading skills.
  • Bilingual international or local languages are a plus.
  • Basic mathematical computation skills
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
  • Customer service oriented with a lively, energetic, and outgoing personality.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Be able to stand or walk for an extended period.
