Our client, a well-established Global Security Firm based in Nairobi, Kenya with branches across Africa is looking to recruit an Employee Relations Manager with a specialty in industrial relations. The successful candidate MUST have an excellent experience in working with unions. He /she will be required to provide advice, information and implements industrial relations & employment policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement employee relations, social and welfare activities.
- Implement employee support programs at the branch to create a conducive & respectful workplace.
- Facilitate communication by providing guidance and consultation regarding problem solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.
- Investigate and recommend actions for branch grievances & complaints of harassment and discrimination.
- Responsible for discipline management at the branch as per the discipline policy.
- Monitor staff employment details and ensure all staff have valid contracts.
- Support and coordinate annual staff appraisal, staff training and ensure training records are up to date.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Social Science or Business Administration is mandatory.
- Must be a member of IHRM.
- Must have a higher national diploma in Human Resource.
- Must have worked in industry with a minimum of 600 employees.
- Must have exposure to extensive labour intensive and unionized environments.
- Working knowledge in application of employment laws, relations and manuals.
- Excellent background working with unionized employees.
