Imports and Logistics Executive

Our client, a dynamic Manufacturing Company whose core business is distribution of automotive batteries, solar systems installation, backup systems installation, solar water heating and wind energy systems installations is looking to recruit an Imports and Logistics Executive. The ideal candidate must have a similar experience in a manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the entire import process for all imported products, materials and commodities.
• Ensure that the ideal inventory levels are maintained as per policy.
• Manage the entire order process for all imported products, raw materials, and requirements.
• Closely manage and monitor import time frames and costs to ensure minimum shipping times.
• Constantly review freight costing to ensure the best possible rates and services.
• Provide weekly updates on all imports and use this to ensure delivery time frames for all products.
• Implementing inventory policy and maintain stock at approved levels to avoid excess or stock outs.
• Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes that may affect the production process.
• Negotiate with international suppliers to secure the highest value for money and best terms.
• Supervise all incoming goods, machinery, spare parts & associate shipments.
• Effective risk management and governance of all suppliers.
• Process the required imports documentation i.e LPOs, IDFs CoC’s, Insurances etc.
• Provide optimal service to all and maintain status report for all shipments and airfreights.
• Maintain good supplier relationship and Governmental Agencies as well.
• Understanding and keeping up with new trends and regulations in the business.

  Qualifications:

• Bsc degree in procurement/supply chain management, logistics or business admin.
• Diploma in shipping/ clearing & forwarding from a recognized institution.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a reputable company.
• Good working knowledge on KRA, KPA, KBS and other regulatory bodies.
• Good working knowledge and understanding of ERP systems.
• Knowledge in Kaizen and ISO systems an advantage.
• High levels of integrity.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Talent in negotiations and networking.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Age Bracket: 30 – 40 years.
