Our client, a Global Security Company with headquarters in Nairobi is looking to recruit a Fleet Manager. The ideal candidate must have a Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering and at least 10 years’ experience in a busy set up operating a large fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of all Fleet matters.
  • Overall management of all personnel in the Fleet Department.
  • Supervision and guidance to fleet reps on fleet related matters.
  • Ensure accuracy in all Fleet documentation.
  • Ensure smooth running of the Fleet Office.
  • Implement the Fleet Policy.
  • Run and operate the Fleet P&L to align with the intended profitability of the company.
  • Implement management strategies.
  • Offer support to other units and projects with transport needs.
  • Forecasts costs and expenditure for planning purposes.
  • Maintain accurate fleet assets register.
  • Ensure minimal company exposure due to accident labilities.
  • Offer technical management to senior management on acquisition and disposal of vehicles.
  • Maintain the highest assets residual value possible.
  • Act as the technical lead for all fleet related matters.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Degree in Automotive Engineering or Mechanical engineering.
  • Must have 10 years in a busy set up operating a large fleet of vehicles.
  • Must have a Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have good knowledge of the traffic act.
  • Proven hands on workshop operations to lead from the front.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Conversant with Kenyan Traffic Laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Honesty, integrity and accountability.
