Lead Baristas – Kuwait

Our client a well-established coffee shop in Kuwait city is looking to hire Lead Baristas who will be responsible to create the best first impression to customers and ensuring operations run smoothly. He ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years of experience with brewing equipment & know how to calibrate equipment for proper espresso extraction. It is a legal requirement by UAE that all workers undergo medical examination I.e. HIV, syphilis, TB, Hepatitis and Yellow fever.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
• Train new team members according to the new recruit training plan.
• Monitor the quality of espresso production during the shift & report any inconsistencies to Q grader.
• Record all spillage & staff accidents during the shifts & report back to the management.
• Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators/heating equipment to ensure proper functioning before shift & during operations.
• Be knowledgeable of coffee offerings through cuppings & ensure other baristas understand the current offerings.
• Report all customer complaints & their resolutions to management by end of shift.
• Welcoming customers by determining their coffee interests & needs.
• Greet customers and guide them through the menu and selection process.
• Receives cash, debit & credit cards and processes as appropriate.
• Assumes accountability for cash at the end of each shift and perform cash drawer balancing processes.
• Maintains food and coffee product inventory by monitoring inventory levels.
• Monitor dates and labels of all items prepped/opened at the start of the shift.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Certificate/ Diploma in Food and Beverage Service.
• Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience with brewing equipment & know how to calibrate equipment for proper espresso extraction.
• Knowledge of the industry and the regions that the company is operating.
• Must have experience in handcrafting beverages, texturing milk and Latte art skills.
• Must have experience in training, coaching and shift supervision skills.
• Proven ability to perform simple calculations including receiving cash and providing change for customers.
• Must have valid certificate of good conduct.
• Must have a valid travel passport.
• Must be willing to work in arduous conditions – heat & humidity.
